Obituary for Edward J. Crowley


Edward J. Crowley, aged 86 years old, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, after a period of declining health. Ed was born and raised in Worcester, one of four children to John and Anna (Beyerl) Crowley. He attended Worcester Boy’s Trade School where he studied electrical. Ed would go on to work for over 30 years as an electrician within the General Motors Framingham Assembly Plant.

In 1971 Ed and Doris moved to Northborough. He attended St. Rose of Lima Parish and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He looked forward to being outside and found pleasure in swimming and playing chess. Most of all, Ed enjoyed being with his family. He was a true family man with a humble way about him; he was a loving husband and a great father who will truly be missed.

Surviving Ed are his devoted wife of 64 years, Doris A. (O’Neill) Crowley; their three sons, Dennis Crowley of Miami, FL; Stephen Crowley of Dallas, TX and Brian Crowley of Medford; four grandchildren Nicollette Hagey, Paige Kelly, Nathaniel Crowley, Danielle Crowley and four great-grandchildren, Mila, Skylar, Tripp and Jason. Ed’s three siblings John J. Crowley, Jr, Beyrl Corbin and Mary Notola preceded him in death.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 6, from 5-7 P.M. at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, September 7, in St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
