Obituary for Margaret L. Melnick (Sargent)
NEEDHAM, MA
Margaret “Mel” (Sargent) Melnick (81) of Needham, MA passed away Thursday December 30, 2021. She was the beloved mother of Thomas Milton (Mary) of Walpole, MA, Michelle Daszkiewicz (Thomas Warren) of Norfolk, MA and Jill Muller (Kevin) of Medway, MA. She was predeceased by her daughter Teri Weir and son Arthur Milton.
Mel grew up in Medfield, MA and was the daughter of the late Margaret Cunningham and Herbert Sargent. She is survived by her sisters Linda Harrington of Dennis, MA, Stephanie DeSantis of Natick, MA and Jean Baker of Foxboro, MA. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
She was the loving Nana to Dylan Daszkiewicz, Rylee Johnson, Delia Muller, Maya Muller, Sam Weir and Grady Weir.
She worked for many years in the food service industry including Needham High School and Dover-Sherborn Middle High School. She loved to cook and especially loved to share her home cooked meals and goodies with family, friends and neighbors. She was also an avid reader and most importantly treasured her beloved dog Merfi.
A Celebration of Life event will take place in the spring on the beach in Winthrop where Mel felt most at peace. Please email: Mel_Memorial@yahoo.com to be placed on the notification email to be distributed at a later date.
