Obituary for William T. Cullen

William "Billy" Cullen, 48, of Northborough, MA lost his long battle with cancer on October 26, 2018. He is survived by his son, Bryan Cullen; his mother, Tonia Cullen Porada; the love of his life, Jennifer Tolman, and her three children, Cassie, Jason and Viviana. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a ton of Facebook friends.
Billy grew up in Berlin, Massachusetts, and is a graduate of Tahanto Regional High School. He joined the family business, Nashoba Welding Company, after graduation. He later served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. George Washington, spending time in the Mediterranean just as the tensions in the Middle East were starting to escalate.
Music was a big part of Billy's life, and he loved to play the guitar. Every chance he got he would be singing along with the band at live concerts. He especially loved Aerosmith, attending their concerts all over the country, including as far away as Lake Tahoe.
Billy always found solace in painting, mostly seascapes. Please see his painting in the "Memories-View Photos" area of this website. With this painting, Billy won a veteran's art contest at the Bedford VA center, and it was selected as the front cover for the condolence cards that were sent out by the VA that year.
Billy loved the Bruins, the Red Sox, the Patriots, and the Celtics - in that order. But if there was a championship celebration in Boston, no matter the team, he would be there. And in 2004, when his family had season tickets to Fenway Park, if the Sox were in town, Billy was in Seat 11, Right Field Box, Section 97. And Sox fans all know what happened in 2004 - that was a very good year for Billy, too.
There will be a graveside service with military honors at the South Cemetery on Pleasant Street in Berlin on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Please join us as we say goodbye to Billy.
