Northborough - Alice L. (Trimble) Whittemore, 85, The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully at her home from her battle with ovarian cancer on Sunday, September 13, 2015. She leaves her devoted husband of 64 years, Richard A. Whittemore; her three loving daughters, Barbara Jean Fasano of Whitinsville, MA; Bette-Jo Whittemore of Nashua, NH and Bonnie Whittemore of Grand Island, FL; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Mayo of Rochester, NH. Born in Worcester, daughter of Everett and Mildred (Rice) Trimble, she lived in Florida since 1988. Alice graduated from Northborough High School in 1948 and Becker College, Worcester, MA in 1949. Alice worked as a secretary at the former Lyman School for Boys, Westborough. She went on to work at Harvard Medical School Primate Research Center, Southborough, as an executive secretary in pathology. Alice also worked as the school librarian at Hillside School, Marlborough under her husbands' Headmastership. She was a former member of the DAR, Northborough chapter. A calling hour will be held Friday, Oct. 16th from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. A Graveside will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
