Westborough Carl L. Goodall passed away peacefully August 1, 2016, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 74. He leaves his wife of 36 years, Gail (Peterson) Goodall; his children, Jennifer and Robert Pratt of Hopkinton; Sarah Ziegler of Grafton; Christy and Kevin Weigold of Shrewsbury; his five grandchildren, Nicole, Audrey, Noelle, Nora and Charlie; three brothers, David Goodall of Charlton; John and Jim Goodall of Florida; his sister Nancy Goodall of CA; his first wife Susan Conlon; nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Jane Mason. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Harry and Winifred (Jones) Goodall. Carl owned and operated Goodall and Sons Tractor Company, growing it from a small family business to a nationally recognized dealership. A lifelong resident of Westborough, Carl established a gentleman's farm at his homestead. A beloved grandfather, Carl lived for his grandchildren. Carl's gusto and enthusiasm for life was exemplified in his many activities including hunting, flying planes, fishing, gardening, woodworking, boating, snowmobiling and building stonewalls. Carl had a passion for classic cars and anything with an engine. He loved to entertain his family and friends, always extending his generosity, kindness and humor to those around him. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 4th, 2016, 5 - 8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Carl's funeral will be held on Friday, August 5th at 9:00 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St. Westborough, with Reverend John W. Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hillside School, 404 Robin Hill St. Marlborough, MA 01752.
