Northborough- Daniel Joseph Scott Jr., 20, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 9, 2012.

Dan leaves behind his parents Daniel J. Sr. and Joan Baker Scott; his sister, Christina Scott of Northborough; his maternal grandmother, Kathryn Baker of Rochester, New York; also surviving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was born in Newton and raised in Northborough. Dan graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in 2010. While working at Jay's Landscaping of Southborough, Dan was attending Quinsigamond Community College studying to be a firefighter/ EMT. He was an active member in his church, St. Rose of Lima, where he was a drummer in the youth band and in the play Godspell in 2010, and played on the CYO basketball and volleyball teams. Dan was an avid freshwater bass fisherman; he especially enjoyed fishing on the Cape during family summer vacations.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Dan's funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
