Northborough/Sudbury - Doris S. Witzel, 97 Daughter of the late Arthur & Sarah Scoones, wife of the late Walter H. Witzel. She was born in NY on August 21, 1905 and left us peacefully on October 15, 2012 at Coleman House in Northboro. Survived by her son John A. Witzel & daughter in-law Gayle Witzel, granddaughter & her husband Jennifer & Michael Michalik, grandson Paul Witzel, her beloved great grandchildren Emily & Andrew Michalik, brothers Gerald & William Scoones & their families. In the 1940's Doris worked as a dedicated Secretary at the Rome Army Air Field, NY and had her pilot's license before her driver's license. Eventually settling down in Sudbury, MA she pioneered a babysitter placement service and liked to entertain, cook, play bridge and travel. Retiring to Ringe, NH and Acton, MA and ultimately to Northboro, MA she also enjoyed reading, bird watching and doting on her grand and great grandchildren. She lived a long and happy life, full of love, friends and family. Doris will be missed by all. Services and burial at Cathedral of the Pines, Rindge, N.H. are private.
