Obituary

Marlborough – Henry L. (Hank) Noyes Sr. 88, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2015 at the Reservoir Center in Marlborough. He leaves his son Henry L. (Larry) Noyes, Jr. of Sterling; his daughter Anita Pawlina of Auburn; 4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and his longtime friend Emeline Lynde of Marlborough. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Arthur and Magnolia (Kinnear) Noyes. Hank lived in Sterling for 35 years before moving to Marlborough in 1974. He owned Hank's Shell Service Station in West Boylston from 1957-1968. He also owned a Shell Station and "The House of 1000 Nip's" Liquor Store in Sterling from 1968 through the early 1980s . Mr. Noyes raced class A & B stock cars at the former Westborough Speedway and Thompson Speedway in CT. Years ago, Henry enjoyed boating & deep sea fishing vacations as well as family trips to Plum Island. Other hobbies included snowmobiling with the Sterling Snow Blazers. He was a camping enthusiast in the 1980s. Hank proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and the Korean War. Mr. Noyes was a member of the American Legion.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, May 15, 2015 from 10-11 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough, followed by a funeral at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors be held in Howard St. Cemetery, Northborough. For online condolences, please visit www.haysfuneralhome.com
