Northborough - Leo Bombara, died on July 3, 2013, in Marlborough Hospital after being stricken ill at home. He was 92. He leaves his wife of 23 years, Francesca "Cessy" (Reed) Bombara; his daughter, Joan Johnson and her husband Bruce of Framingham; his son, Stephen Bombara and his wife Patricia of Ramsey, NJ; his stepdaughter Jennifer Toth and her husband Tibor of Framingham; stepsons Thomas Cushing of Falls Church, Virginia and Christopher Cushing of Framingham; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his first wife, Rose (Coniglio) Bombara and a daughter, Sandra Jenkins. Born in Boston and raised in Boston's West End, he was the son of the late Orazio and Antonina (Auditore) Bombara. He graduated from Mechanic Arts High School. Mr. Bombara was employed as a tool and die maker at the Boston Naval Ship Yard for 25 years until his retirement in 1974. From 1977-1985, he worked in the jet engines division of General Electric Corp. in Lynn. He most recently worked for Boston Scientific. He enjoyed woodworking in his retirement years. Mr. Bombara served in the Navy stateside during WW II. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough, MA.
