Berlin - Lorraine A. (Bergeron) Cedar, 90, passed away on April 25, 2018 at UMass Memorial Health Care - University campus in Worcester after a brief illness. She leaves behind her devoted husband of nearly 71 years, George C. Cedar; her children, Richard Cedar and his wife Maureen of Sutton; David Cedar and his wife "Deda" of Erin, NY; Michael Cedar of Worcester; Karie Hagerty and her husband Peter of Weare, NH; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Norman Bergeron of Yorktown, VA; a sister, Dolores Bergeron of Saco, Maine; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Agnes Carey, formerly of Northborough and Bernadette Sylvester, formerly of Clinton. Born in Orange, NJ and raised in Northborough, she was the daughter of William and Alvina (Challet) Bergeron. Lorraine graduated from Northborough High School in 1946. Years ago, she served a Cub Scout den mother in Berlin. Mrs. Cedar lived much of her life by serving others in the town of Berlin. She loved cooking and baking for St. Joseph and First Parish Church fairs, as well as providing meals for Berlin seniors for well over 25 years. She truly enjoyed working at Indian Head Farm over the years. Lorraine and George loved camping in Sutton and at Crystal Springs Campground in Bolton. She was an avid bowler at Sawyer's in Northborough. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street Northborough. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 30th at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street, Berlin. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Berlin.
