Obituary

Marie Elena Nieber, 74 Northborough - On Monday, June 13, 2016, the strongest yet softest and most loving part of my life left me to prepare our new home. In her seventy-four brief years she was able to share her talents and wisdom with many people, family and strangers alike. She left this world alone, in the middle of the night, yet at peace knowing that her family had been close to her through the whole ordeal. Marie is survived by her husband, Rick Nieber; a son, Joseph J. Sebeika and his wife Donna of Grafton; daughters, Leonda N. (Nieber) Mocanu and her husband Jeffrey of Boxborough and Lesley K. (Nieber) Thomas and her husband Ferdinand of Maynard; one grandchild, Christopher Thomas of Maynard; her mother, Linda (Morenzetti) Tebo of Northborough; two brothers, Herbie Tebo of Douglas and Bob Tebo of Berlin, MA; four sisters, Jeanne Shrum, Ruth Dupree, and Sandra Beane all of Marlborough and Penni Barger of Ripon, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Henry Pacific; step-father, Don Tebo; two brothers and sisters, Don and Ricky Tebo, and Jackie Stevens and Susan Bindman. Marie was born in Southborough and graduated from Peter's High School there, it's last graduating class before closing, and later put herself through night school to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a business degree from Framingham State. She worked as an office manager for Concord Technologies of Marlborough before retiring. She previously worked at Koehler Manufacturing of Marlborough during which time she met her husband, Rick, at an adult evening class at Assabet Regional H.S. She loved sewing and was an adept seamstress for most of her life; a voracious reader, especially of American history, and a gardener beyond compare with Tower Hill twice selecting her home for garden tours. She was extremely active in the community; a member of NAC (Northborough Action Committee), served on the Personnel Board, charter member of the Tea Party, member of the Historical Society and recently reformed Historical Commission all in Northborough. Through her efforts, her home was the first in Northborough to be designated a single home historic district. Her love, caring and honesty will be remembered by the many people she encountered throughout her life; they will most remember her eternal youthfulness, her determination and her meticulous ways. She may have been petite but her love was larger than life. Calling Hours for Marie will be held on Thursday, June 16, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 17, at 11 a.m. Afterwards, all are invited back to the American Legion Vincent F.
