Northborough Nancy B. Dalton (Aftuck), 77, of Northborough and formerly longtime resident of Arlington, died peacefully at home on September 6, following a brief illness. Born to Joseph and Helen Aftuck on September 8, 1936 at Marlborough Hospital, Nancy grew up in Hudson and Needham. Nancy married James E. Dalton in 1957 and together they enjoyed a wonderful 34 year marriage until his untimely death in 1992. During those many happy years, they were blessed with seven children. Nancy is survived by those children: Susan M. McGoldrick and her husband Michael of Northborough, Elizabeth A. Deady and her husband John of Northborough, James E. Dalton, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Burlington, David A. Dalton and his wife Allison of Charlestown, Joseph W. Dalton and his wife Cara of Arlington, Timothy J. Dalton and his wife Heather of Dighton, and Thomas E. Dalton of Northborough. Nancy is also survived by her beloved brother Anthony Aftuck and his wife Anne of Arlington. Nancy absolutely adored her grandchildren and she was adored by them, she is survived by fifteen: Megan, Patrick, Colleen, Will, J. J., Richard, Christopher, Andrew, Kristen, Matthew, Joey, Alice, Halle, Madelin, William, and great grandson Michael. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews. Nancy was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, and grandmother; she was a good and faithful friend to many; and she was an accomplished student and professional. She entered grammar school at age four and graduated from St. Michael's Academy in Hudson at 16 in 1953. She studied at UMASS Amherst and Boston University and she had a nearly two decade career at Lexington Alarm Systems, retiring as Assistant Controller in 1995. She was an active in her children's activities and in her community service as a Brownie, Girl Scout and Cub Scout Den Leader, a PTO President, a board member and social committee chair in the Intervale Farm community, and a fifteen member of the St. Rose of Lima parish. Nancy was an avid reader, lover of a good puzzle, and enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee, planning a party, or playing cards with all of her friends, some of whom she has known for entire life. Nancy's life will be celebrated at a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough, MA, on Wednesday, September 10 at 10:00 AM.
