Shrewsbury- "Scott" Franklin D. Forbes passed away at home March 21, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 76. He leaves behind his loving wife of 26 years, Peggy (Gavagan) Forbes; his son, Richard Forbes of Clinton; three stepsons, Aaron, Adam and Andrew; his brother, James Forbes and wife Donna of Worcester; predeceased brothers, Richard, Davis, Curtis and John Terrance. Born in Marlborough, he was the son of Franklin and Irene (Beane) Forbes. Scott lived in Shrewsbury for the past 26 years and is formerly of Northborough and Berlin. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. A skilled tool and die maker by trade, Scott worked at Hudson Lock for 18 years and Saliga Machine in Hudson, retiring in 2011. He also owned Forbes Trucking Co. He was a life member of the Marlborough Fish & Game, American Legion Post #234 of Northborough, Moose Lodge of Marlborough and was a past president of the former Northborough Fish & Game, and Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.). Scott was a proud member of the NRA. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Harley rider and pilot. Scott and Peggy enjoyed several Norwegian cruises to Bermuda, Hawaii and the Caribbean. Scott proudly served in the Army Reserves. Calling hours will be held Friday, March 27th from 4-7 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough.
