Worcester – Shirley M. (Harwood) Menard, 88, passed away at Christopher Heights on June 16, 2016 after a period of declining health. Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Henry D. Menard. Among her relatives are three nieces locally; Linda McGill, Anna Armenti and Angela Moore; a brother, Roger Harwood; great nieces and great nephews; two great-great nieces and a great-great nephew. Born in Spencer, Shirley lived many years in Worcester as well as the Fiskedale section of Sturbridge. Mrs. Menard worked as a nurse's aide at Worcester City Hospital and Worcester State Hospital from 1965-1980. Her hobbies included crafting, fishing, gardening and word puzzles.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 6-7 p.m. followed a funeral at 7:00 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Burial is private.
