Northborough - Warren "Web" E. Burgess passed away on June 15, 2016 at Beaumont of Northborough after a period of declining health. He was 85. His loving wife of 47 years, Patricia (Cowen) Burgess died this past December. He leaves his children, Julie Labonte and her husband Tim, Veronica Pardee, Joyce Besaw and Warren Burgess; ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Roger Burgess and Sister Ruth Diehl. Born in Millbury, he was the son of Enoch and Evelyn (Hughes) Burgess and lived in Northborough for many years. Web worked at the former Machinery Electrification in Northborough, Digital Equipment Corp. and Dover Instruments. In his early years, he operated a photography business. An active member of First United Methodist Church of Westborough, he was head usher, head counter, and trustee. Mr. Burgess was also involved with Appalachia Service Project within the church. Web retired from the MA Army National Guard where he served as a medic and cook. He enjoyed square dancing and camping, particularly in Wells, ME. Most of all, Web loved spending time with his grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 24th at 10 a.m. in First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St. Westborough, MA 01581. Burial will follow in Howard St. Cemetery, Northborough. The family would prefer donations be made to Appalachia Service Project (ASP) - Westborough, c/o First United Methodist Church.
