Alma Rose (Walker) Ackley, beloved wife of 59 years to Ronald C. Ackley, and a lifelong resident of Berlin, passed away in her sleep Tuesday, August 9, 2016; she was 79 years old. Alma was born in Clinton on October 28, 1936, the daughter of the late Alvin and Martha (Wright) Walker. She graduated from the Felton School in Hudson, Class of 1953. Alma leaves two sons, Scott Ackley (Gwen) of Jefferson and Brett Ackley (Ann) of Hudson. She also leaves two brothers, Andrew Walker and David Walker (Karen), and one sister, Penny Pendergast (George), all whom live in Berlin. A brother, Kenneth Walker, preceded her in death.

Alma worked for 15 years at Skinner's Auctioneers and Appraisers. She was a member of the First Parish Church of Berlin and the Berlin Historical Society. She enjoyed tending her flower and vegetable gardens and caring for her dog.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016, from 4-7PM in the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Alma's funeral will be held at 10AM on Friday, August 12, 2016, from the First Parish Church, 24 Central St, Berlin. Burial in North Cemetery, Berlin, will be private.
