Obituary

Antoinette (Tingley) Schleyer of Foxborough, formerly of Warwick, RI, passed away October 12, 2014, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, after a battle with cancer. She was 69. She leaves her devoted husband of 29 years, John "Jack" M. Schleyer; stepchildren, Charles Schleyer, Sheila Bony and her husband Mark, Christopher Schleyer and his wife Sandra; 5 step grandchildren; her brother, Larry Tingley and his wife Charlene of Easton, three nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Born in Biloxi, MS, and raised in Sharon, MA, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Florence (Westover) Tingley. Antoinette graduated from Sharon High School in 1963. She went on to earn her Bachelor's degree from Brown University in 1967 and her Master's in Education from Lesley University in the late 1970s. Mrs. Schleyer taught elementary education abroad in Switzerland, Germany, London, and India during the 1960's and 70s. Antoinette and Jack met at the International House in Providence in 1981 and were married in 1985. She was a member of American Mathmatical Society in Providence. Antoinette loved her family and friends, her dogs and cats, art, music, art museums, traveling, and was an avid piano player.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 9:30-11:00 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough, with a funeral to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Howard St. Cemetery, Northborough.
