Northborough – Arthur L. Banks Jr. passed away on June 15, 2016 at Marlborough Hills Health Care after a period of declining health. He was 86. He leaves his devoted wife of 49 years, Wanda (Blakely) Banks; his loving children, Susan Phelps of Newport, ME; David Banks of Pompano Beach, FL; Nancy White of Atkinson, ME; Linda Walker of Portland, ME; Ronald Ballou of Gloucester; Steven Banks of Leominster; 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Edward Banks of Grafton; a sister, Patricia Caudle of FL; many nieces and nephews. Born in Johnson City, NY, Arthur lived most of his life in Northborough. He graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1948. A self-employed finish carpenter by trade, Mr. Banks worked many years in the Natick/Framingham area until his retirement in 2000. Arthur's favorite past times included square dancing, camping, traveling and photography. He was a history buff and enjoyed genealogy. Arthur cherished spending time with his family.

Calling hours will be held Monday, June 20, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. His funeral will take place on Tuesday, June 21, at 10 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Howard St. Cemetery. Donations in Arthur's memory may be made to New England Carpenters Training Fund, 13 Holman Rd. Millbury, MA 01527.
