Carl R. Hansen, 87, passed away on August 30, 2026, in the comfort of his own home of 53 years, with his daughter by his side. Carl is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Gail Hansen.

Born and raised in Boston, Carl was the son of the late Henry and Margaret Hansen. He enlisted in the United States Air Force as soon as he turned 18, beginning what would become a 30-year honorable commitment to service and country. Extremely patriotic, Carl was proud of his country, proud of his military service, and remained closely connected to fellow veterans throughout his life. He dedicated his life to the American Legion Post 234, AMVETS Post 1980, the National Rifle Association, Gun Owners’ Action League, the Marlborough Fish and Game Club. Throughout his membership time, Carl was honored to have served in multiple leadership roles across these organizations.

Carl was proud of working for the Massachusetts State Police Drug Task Force and subsequent Asset Management Department. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, archer, and marksman. He loved the woods and looked for every opportunity to be in them.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Friday, September 4, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. In recognition of Carl's honorable service, military honors will be held at 3:45 PM. We thank you in advance for celebrating our father’s life with us.
