Catherine May
Northborough, MA
Catherine May, 76, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2025. Catherine was born on Valentine's Day 1949 and surprised her parents by arriving with a twin brother, Henry. Growing up as the only girl in a houseful of 4 rowdy brothers in Northborough, MA she was a big help to her mother with the brood.
As a teenager of the 60s, Catherine had a great fondness for the Beatles and Chad and Jeremy. After earning her bachelor's degree, she lived and worked in Cork, Ireland for several years.
Upon returning to the U.S., she worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston as a key punch operator. Later, she held a part time position at the Museum of Science in Boston. In retirement Catherine expressed her creative talent through sewing and designing handmade greeting cards.
Catherine was known for being overly generous and a supporter of the arts.
Though Catherine was not without struggles, her best years were spent serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She taught Sabbath School and later served as a teacher at the SDA Church Elementary School in Norman, Oklahoma. Twice she traveled to Russia with a missionary group to share her faith with others.
She was predeceased by her mother, Charlotte T. May (Woods); her father, James J. May; and her brothers, John and Peter. She is survived by her twin brother, Henry of Converse, TX; her brother David and his wife, Kimberley of Venice FL; her sister-in-law, Eileen Shannon (Peter's wife) of Concord, MA; and her 5 nephews: Craig, Kevin, Keith, Nathaniel, Connor, and Christopher May.
At Catherine's request, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Come and Reason Ministries (comeandreason.com)
