Shrewsbury- Catharine "Kay" T. (O'Leary) Waple, 89, formerly of Roslindale and E. Boston, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at UMass Memorial Hospital, Worcester after a brief illness.

Her husband John J. Waple passed away in 2008. She is survived by her 4 sons; William Waple of Saugus, Robert Waple of Marlborough, Edward Waple of WA, James Waple of Sturbridge; 1 daughter, Linda Waple of Shrewsbury; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Catherine is predeceased by her son, Bert Waple; 1 brother and 4 sisters. She was born in Boston and was the daughter of the late Timothy and Grace (Benford) O'Leary. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima and American Legion Post #234 Women's Auxiliary.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 1-4p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. Kay's funeral Mass will be held Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10:00a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Her burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
