WORCESTER / NORTHBOROUGH

Cecilia E. Turner passed away peacefully at her Worcester home on July 11, 2026, following a period of declining health, surrounded by the love of her devoted family.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Horace E. Turner, with whom she recently celebrated their anniversary on June 29. She also leaves her loving daughter, Michelle Turner of Chicopee; five cherished grandchildren, Sheana Barrett, Shekar Barrett, Kamri Orane, Nakai Lyons, and Kyemani Lyons; her treasured great-granddaughter, Aniyah Taylor; her sister, Beverly Downey of Silver Spring, Maryland; along with many nieces and nephews.

Born and raised in Jamaica, Cecilia was the daughter of the late Rupert Williams and Ethel Carby. She immigrated to the United States in 1967, settling in Springfield, where she was employed as a librarian at Western New England College. After relocating to Northborough in the 1990s, she completed the LPN program at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School and enjoyed a rewarding career as a geriatric nurse in long-term care. In 2020, Cecilia and Horace moved to their current home in Worcester.

Cecilia found great joy in crafting and treasured every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Cecilia, along with Horace, have been longtime parishioners of St. Bernadette Parish in Northborough.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at St. Bernadette Parish, 266 Main Street, Northborough.
