BERLIN

On Thursday, July 29, 2021, Claire Palmer Gillespie, age 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at home, her loving family by her side. She was born in Boston on September 22, 1941, a daughter to the late George and Natale (Cole) Palmer.

Claire is survived by her husband of 57 years, David J. Gillespie, a son, Andrew Gillespie and his partner Maria Scibelli of Springfield; a daughter, Karen Johnson and her fiancé Robert Poirier of Northborough; her four grandchildren, Alison and Katherine Johnson, Heather Gillespie, Benjamin Gillespie and his wife Kirsten and a great-grandson, Ethan Cole Gillespie.

Honoring Claire's wishes, all services and interment are private, for her family. Her family respectfully suggests any memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org).
