Claire Marjory (Warren) Delaney, age 92, passed away October 23, 2015 at her home in Berlin, MA surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Thomas Delaney. She leaves daughters Denny and Marjory Robertson and sons Donald and Douglas Robertson. Claire was predeceased by her first husband David Robertson and also by her son David Robertson. She leaves six grandchildren, Owen, Adam, Jenna, Michael, Andrew, and Katie, and three great grandchildren, Conner, Ayla, and Bailey. She also leaves two step daughters Jeanne Santella and Pamela Lavoie and Pamela's two sons, Thomas and Daniel. Claire was born in Boston MA, July 25, 1923, daughter of Bertha and Frederic Warren. She grew up in Belmont, attended and graduated from the Belmont public schools, and then continued her pursuit of education at the University of Michigan where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. Mrs. Delaney taught in the public schools in Bloomfield Hills, MI prior to moving her family to Berlin, MA in 1965. She then taught for 15 years for the Bolton public school system, at the Emerson School, until her retirement in 1980. In her retirement, she spent summers with her husband Tom at their home in Tiverton, Nova Scotia where she leaves many relatives and friends. Claire was bright and curious and she relished, among other things, her daily Scrabble matches with her husband Tom, finishing the New York Times Crossword puzzles, and having lively political debates. She also proudly spoiled her beloved cat Ollie, and enjoyed an occasional outing to the casinos. Claire was a delightful person who will be missed by the many people whose lives she deeply touched. A service honoring and remembering Claire's life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 10 A.M. , in the Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532. She will then be laid to rest in the South Berlin Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Berlin, MA.
