Throughout her life, Doreen faced every challenge with dignity, grace, and determination. Nowhere was this more evident than when she received the difficult diagnosis of cancer. From her first treatment to her final moments, Doreen never wavered in her positive outlook, her deep concern for the well-being of family and friends, and her steadfast resilience.

With great sadness, the family of Doreen E. McLeod share her passing on Thursday evening, September 18, 2025, at the age of 68. Doreen was born in Boston and raised in Waltham, the daughter of Robert J. and Edith M. (Abuzzi) Conty.

After the birth of their child, Doreen married Laurence McLeod and they began their family raising their daughter in Waltham. They moved to Sandwich in 2000, where they enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time as a family. In 2010, they moved to Hudson and Doreen remained in Hudson following Laurence's passing in 2011, and for the past five years had made her home in Northborough. She worked for many years as an associate at various Cumberland Farms locations, retiring only when her health no longer allowed her to continue.

Doreen's personality shone through in the simple things she loved—most notably her fondness for flip flops, which reflected both her casual style and her relaxed outlook on life. The beach was her happy place; she cherished time spent on Cape Cod and at St. Augustine Beach in Florida. Outgoing and warm, Doreen delighted in meeting new people and learning their stories. True to herself, she never minced words and often would gladly share her unfiltered thoughts and opinions freely. She enjoyed reading Danielle Steel novels, playing Bingo at the Northborough Senior Center, going on trips with her close friends Joan and Ernie Place of Marlborough, and listening to music, especially the Doobie Brothers, Queen and Three Dog Night.

Doreen leaves behind her daughter, Jessica P. McLeod and her boyfriend Thomas Krause both of Northborough and Nicole Connelly of Middleborough, who was like a second daughter to her. In addition to her husband Laurence, she was predeceased by her parents.

Honoring Doreen's wishes, all services will be private for her family.
