BERLIN
The family of Doris A. (Brewer) Clemmer Shortt, a longtime resident of Berlin and much loved matriarch to her family, share her passing on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Doris was was 90 years old and the devoted wife of 42 years to Merle X. Shortt until separated by his own death in 2002.
Born in Clinton, Doris was one of four children to the late Clifton and Helen (Estabrook) Brewer. Doris remained a resident of Berlin for most of her life. It was here which she devoted her life to raising her family and caring for their home. Doris was a longtime member of the Evening Guild and the Homemakers Club. She deeply loved and enjoyed keeping up with her three generations of grandchildren.
Surviving Doris are her two daughters, Gail Champagne and Robin Ellis - both of New Market, NH, her son, Keith Clemmer and wife Cheryl of Sarasota, FL and Berlin and and her daughter, Diane Grenier and her husband Joe of Berlin. She also leaves her nine grandchildren, Eric Brown (Andrea), Stacy Brown, Brian Clemmer (Andrea), Becky Bartlett (Kevin), David Ellis, LauraLee Fritz (Michael), Dana Wergen (Chris), Amy Grenier (Tim) and Joey Grenier (Jamie); ten great-grandchildren, Kendra, Cody, Dylan, Kara, Justin, Dylan Kaylee, Lucy, Liam, Damon and one great-great grandson, Travis. In addition, Doris is survived by her sister, Shirley Lipka and a brother, Fred Brewer. Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Corinne Williams and two sons-in-law, David Champagne and Gary Ellis.
