Dora "Dot" E. (Lara) Maloney, passed away on November 17, 2014 at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89. Born and raised in Worcester, she was the daughter of Cristy and Efthimia (Papandili) Lara. Dot graduated from Commerce High School. Her devoted husband of 52 years, John J. Maloney Sr. died in 2000. She leaves her loving children, Mark Maloney of Shrewsbury; Kevin Maloney of Worcester, John Maloney Jr. of Shrewsbury; Maureen Amour of Shrewsbury; Sharon Santiago of Worcester and Gail Anderson of Dudley; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flo and Virginia; many nieces and nephews. A devout Catholic, Mrs. Maloney loved her St. Rose of Lima Parish where she was a longtime member. She was a loving mother and grandmother who truly lived for her family. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Her funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St. Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard St. Cemetery.
