Obituary

Northborough/Brookfield Douglas S. Partridge, 69, died February 10, 2014 at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge after being stricken ill at home. He leaves his devoted wife of 48 years, Marjorie (Stone) Partridge; his loving children, Brian Partridge of Sturbridge; Andrea Sousa and her husband Joe of W. Brookfield; Heather Wright and her husband Ben of Sturbridge; 8 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, and his sister, Joan Mortimer Watts of Concord. His brother Glen Partridge died in 2001. Born and raised in Clinton, he was the son of Matthew and Irene (Ferry) Partridge. Doug graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1963. He spent his professional career of 36 years at Westborough State Hospital as a Mental Health Assistant. Mr. Partridge lived in Northborough from 1968-2005, before moving to Brookfield in 2005. Doug loved camping with family at Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He also loved going to Cape Elizabeth to see the lighthouses and beautiful views. Mr. Partridge enjoyed gardening, music and reading. Doug was especially proud of his Scottish heritage. His life was centered around his loving family. Doug was a true family man. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 1-4 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Doug's funeral will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial in Howard St. Cemetery.
