Edith Italia Janiak, longtime resident of Marlborough, passed away on July 26, 2025, at the age of 95 years old. For over 28 years she greeted customers with a smile as she prepared their deli orders at the Marlborough, Natick and Hudson Stop and Shop stores.

Edith was born and raised in Brockton, one of five children to first generation immigrants Guido and Jennie (Guliano) Guglielmo. Edith enjoyed decorating her home and hosting lunch gatherings for family and friends. She enjoyed reading, socializing and keeping up with the local neighborhood happenings.

Surviving Edith is a niece Cheryl Margadonna of Northborough; a nephew Russell Flagg and wife Andrea of Phillipston; three grandnephews and four grandnieces and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stephen J. Janiak; her daughter Debra Janiak and her siblings, Frances Calder, Norma Thompson, Mary Simoneau, Louis Guglielmo.

A calling hour will be held from 9AM to 10AM on Monday, August 11th at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A funeral home service will begin at 10AM. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Marlborough.
