NORTHBOROUGH Elaine M. Carey, age 76, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, in Faulkner Hospital after a period of declining health. Elaine was born on July 26, 1945, one of four children to the late Ernest and Elodia (Dumas) Carey. She attended Northborough public schools before beginning her education with the Occupational Training Center of Worcester. Those lucky enough to get to know Elaine will always remember her joyful smile and love of life; she was a beautiful soul. She made many friends and was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. Elaine enjoyed watching movies, especially Disney, old TV sitcoms and would spend hours coloring. She loved all animals although cats and dogs were her favorites. Some other favorite activities and past times included participating in outings with the other residents of her group home, bowling, listening and dancing to music, quietly rocking babies to sleep and spending time with her family. Elaine is survived by her sister, Marsha H. Harrington, her sister-in-law, Betty Carey, her beloved nieces and nephews, Robin Harrington and Christine Moscatelli, Donald Carey, Kevin Harrington and Jeff Harrington and his wife Sara; many great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Elaine was preceded in death by her two brothers, Gerald Casey, Donald Carey, and her brother-in-law, Joseph Harrington. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 - 10am on Thursday, December 2, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Elaine's funeral will follow at 10am in the funeral home.
