Erik S.
Dobay
December 6, 1964 – January 1, 2026
NORTHBOROUGH
With heavy hearts and deep love, we remember a remarkable man whose presence filled every room with laughter, warmth, and an unmistakable sense of joy. He was dad who loved his daughters Tatyana, Bryana & Mackenzie Dobay fiercely and proudly. A generous friend to so many whom he would give the shirt off his back. He was a loving husband to Catherine Dobay. His greatest happiness was being surrounded by the people he loved most.
He lived life with heart and humor. Some of his happiest moments were simple yet unforgettable— taking a great car ride in his beloved Chevelle or on his motorcycle, a vodka soda in hand (no fruit, ever) or soaking in the joy of a sunny day. He could just as easily be found cheering passionately for Kenzie on the court or an Alabama football game, locked into a thrilling UFC fight, or laughing out loud at a funny movie that caught him just right.
His goofy, loving character was truly one of a kind. He had a way of making people feel welcome, seen, and at ease, often through a joke, a story, or that unmistakable laugh that made everything feel okay. He loved deeply, laughed often, and lived fully.
He will be missed beyond words, but his spirit lives on through his incredible gift of organ donation. Even in his last hours he gave all he could and changed the lives of 5 people who will forever have a piece of him. He will always be present in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will forever ride with us, steady and strong, in our hearts and in our lives.
In addition to his daughters and wife, he leaves the mother of his two eldest daughters Andrea Dobay, his mother Bernice Lee, his brother Mark Dobay & wife Stacey, as well as his sister-in-law Jessica Butler and her husband John. He also leaves his brother-in-law Tyson Hight along with his best buddy and father-in-law Allen Hight. Lastly his cherished nieces and nephews Olivia, Blake, Sam, Max, Maddie and honorary family Lexi, Kyleigh and Jagger. Erik was predeceased by his sister Lynn Dobay, stepfather Bob Lee and mother-in-law Marie Hight.
We will have a celebration of life to celebrate when the weather is warmer, and we can enjoy the type of day outside that he loved so much. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a fund set up to support the Dobay girls https://gofund.me/153ae19f8
