Esther “Essie” Louise Murphy (Siracusa), beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend passed away October 24, 2026 at the age of 72.

Essie grew up in Weston, MA where she made many life-long friends. She spent her summers on Lewis Bay, Cape Cod where she developed a deep affinity for the ocean. She often could be heard sharing precious memories made on the Cape of time spent with her family and friends.

Essie was a real estate sales agent in the western Boston suburbs. Essie’s decades-long career reflected her energy, warmth, and genuine interest in the people around her.

Essie loved being outdoors and was especially happy when skiing, boating, playing golf and hiking with her beloved dogs. She enjoyed cooking for her family, often pouring her heart into serving homemade Italian recipes passed down from generations prior.

Essie was a loving and supportive mother who treasured time spent with her family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, filling their time together with love and silliness that they will remember and cherish forever. Her Christmas cookie marathon tradition with her kids and grandkids is one of many that will live on in her memory.

She is survived by her children, Gregory T. Murphy and his spouse Tara Murphy of Dedham, MA, and Lauren Dubin (Murphy) and her spouse Nathaniel Dubin of Westborough, MA. She was a devoted grandmother to Mackenzie, Mason, Merrill, Maggie, Maisie and Morgan Murphy, and to Daniella, Connor, James and Brendon Dubin. She is also survived by her siblings, John Siracusa and Nina Stokes (Siracusa) and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the daughter of the late Nino and Phyllis (Flory) Siracusa. She is also predeceased by her late sister Loretta Haugen (Siracusa) and niece Amy Siracusa.

Honoring Essie’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral services but instead a celebration of life will be planned for the spring.

Arrangements have been under the care of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.
