Ruth Munro, 86 Northborough - Ruth (Baker) Munro died at Coleman House in Northborough on February 17, 2012. She was born in Fitchburg, daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Baker. Ruth is survived by her husband of 52 years, Duncan W. Munro of Northborough; a brother, Richard Baker of Rindge, N.H. and a sister, Margaret Kent of Wells, Maine. A brother, Henry predeceased her. Mrs. Munro has 14 nieces and nephews that she was fond of. Mrs. Munro graduated from Cushing Academy, Fitchburg State College and received her Master's degree from the University of New Hampshire. Ruth taught school in Amherst, Gardner, Fitchburg and West Hartford, CT before her marriage in 1960. She also taught in the Northborough School System at Proctor School. Mrs. Munro sang in several church choirs and the 100 Town Chorus in Westborough. Ruth was a 50-year member of the Northborough Woman's Club. She and Ducan enjoyed spending summers in their cottage on Lake Winnekeag in Ashburnham. There are no calling hours. After cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Ashburnham, with interment to follow.
