Obituary

Marlborough/Northborough- Gerald "Gerry" L. Dionne, of Marlborough, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. He was 78. Born in Connor, Maine, he was the son of Fred and Hazel (Corbin) Dionne. He leaves his devoted wife of 58 years, Patricia (Dowd) Dionne; his children, Mark Dionne and his wife Lynne of Bellingham; Chris Dionne of Marlborough and Todd Dionne of Spencer; 5 grandchildren, Jesse Dionne and his wife Emily, Danielle, Jennifer, David and Paul; many nieces and nephews. Gerry is predeceased by siblings, Pearl, Joanne, and Charles. Mr. Dionne was a machinist by trade, working at Data General in Southborough during the mid 1970's – 1980's. He also was employed at Feecon in Westborough in the early 1990's. Gerry and Pat moved to Northborough in 1966 where they lived for 33 years and raised their family. The happiest days of his life were spent in the town of Northborough. Gerry was a well respected coach and administrator of 30 plus years for Northborough Youth Baseball. He enjoyed fantasy football, camping, and playing pool and was a die-hard Red Sox Fan. Gerry will be remembered by his love of country western music, playing pool and a bottle of Lite Beer! Mr. Dionne proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 2-4 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough.
