Obituary

Northborough

In the early hours of Monday, July 10, 2023, Jacqueline D. Cotter, 84, gently closed her eyes for the final

time in this life and opened them again to the presence of her Lord and Savior. At the time of her

passing, Jackie was surrounded by the supportive love of her family. Jackie was born and raised in

Manchester, NH, the only child of Theodore and Pauline (Perreault) Grimard. She attended St. Theresa

Grade School prior to graduating from St. George High School in 1957.

In 1960 she married the love of her life, Lawrence E. Cotter. They resided in Concord, NH prior to

relocating their young family to Northborough in 1966. For numerous years Jackie worked for Digital

Corp. With a drive to further her knowledge, Jackie continued her studies, first at Fisher College then

Assumption College where she earned her BLS in Gerontology. With a passion for improving the lives of

others, Jackie became employed with the Home Instead program in Northborough, assisting individuals

in maintaining their independence. Jackie volunteered with SHARE N.E., as an activities director within

several local nursing homes and served on the Northborough Youth Commission, six years of which she

served as chair. Jackie strived to improve elder life in her neighborhood, community and beyond.

Jackie was devoted to her Catholic upbringing. She was a longtime active parishioner of St. Bernadette

Parish. Here she enjoyed teaching CCD and singing with the church choir. She was a past Girl Scout

leader, enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, reading and being outside. Jackie and Larry enjoyed

cruises and refinishing furniture together. She looked forward to hosting all the holidays and preparing home-cooked meals, most especially, sharing her sought-after deviled eggs. Family was everything to Jackie.

Surviving Jackie is her husband of 62 years, Larry and their four daughters, Joan Cotter of Auburn, Judith

Cotter of Clinton, Laura Angliss and her husband Ken of Franklin, and Linda Cotter of Auburn. Jackie

was the beloved mémère to her eight grandchildren, Jesse Cotter and his wife Meagan, Elizabeth

Villatoro, Nikki Gangi and her husband Stephen, Krista Shields, Jonathan Remillard, Dylan Remillard,

Cameron Angliss, Nolan Angliss and five great-grandchildren, Aurora, Ganon, Trey, Magnolia and Mya.

She was looking forward to welcoming two more great-grandchildren in the near future.
