On Sunday, March 24, 2024, Palm Sunday, Janet Marie Greiner closed her eyes to her 79 years of life, surrounded by her sister Marie, brother-in-law Michael and niece Jackie, and opened them again to her new home in Heaven, where she was greeted to the welcoming arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Janet was a believer and was confident in her promise of salvation.

Janet was raised in Roosevelt, New York, the daughter of the late Richard C. and Doris M. (Van Wickler) Iversen and sister of the late Robert C. Iversen of Fort Walton Beach Fl. She was a 1963 graduate of Hempstead High School and for over 30 years, a devoted customer service representative for the Educational and Institutional Cooperative Services company of Jericho, NY.

In 1966, Janet married the love of her life, Richard W. Greiner. The couple resided in Roosevelt and East Meadow, NY where they shared 46 years of marriage together until Richard's own passing in 2012. In 2017, Janet relocated to her present home in Woodstock, CT to be closer to her beloved family. She was a member of Tri-State Baptist Church where she actively participated in the many opportunities of worship and fellowship. She especially enjoyed assisting the younger members of the church during vacation Bible school. Janet will be dearly missed by the members there. Janet also enjoyed her daily Bible reading, crafting, taking care of her home, visiting with and going on outings with family and friends. In earlier years, she enjoyed taking long walks with her dog JW and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens and most recently, caring for her cat Inkey.

Surviving Janet is her sister, Marie H. Palmieri and her husband Michael of Woodstock, CT, nieces Jackie and Lauren, nephews Rob and Santi and their families, and numerous members of her husband's family.

Janet was interred on Thursday, April 4th, following a morning graveside service in Saint Charles / Resurrection Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.

Locally, a memorial/Celebration of Life service at Tri-State Baptist Church, 386 Quinebaug Road, North Grosvenordale, CT 06255, will be held Saturday, May 4th. at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Janet's family respectfully request memorial donations be directed to Tri-State Baptist Church.
