Jarvis Howe (Jock) Ewing 1926 -2013 Born in Milton, MA to artist parents Ray & Louise Ewing, raised in Easthampton, MA with younger sister, Louisa, they sailed Penobscot Bay in summers on Deer Isle, ME. A student at Williston Academy, he enlisted in the Navy in 1944, serving the US PT boat squadron in the Philippines as a radar man. An early ski racer, Jock fractured his leg after war's end on Mt Tom. Entered RISD in 1947, where he met Mim, they married in 1947. Graduated RISD in '52 with a degree in Illustration. They moved to Berlin, MA in 1959, where he served variously as Scout Leader, Ski Instructor, Parade Float Designer, Auction Coordinator, Conservation Commissioner & on the Planning Board. Jock also studied math at Worcester State College, and worked 32 years as Plastic Design Engineer for Chu Associates in Littleton, MA. He is survived by his wife Mim, daughter Brenna, grandchildren Sarah, Tyler, Blais, his wife Denielle and grandson Edric. The memorial will be held on at 1 pm, Sat. 1/18/14, at the First Parish Church, 24 Central St., Berlin, Ma.
