Jean A. Thornton of Daytona Beach, FL, formerly of Northborough, MA, passed away on April 11, 2020 at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona. She was 59 years old. She was born on May 7, 1960 in Boston, Ma, to the late Edward F and Marion (Parker) Thornton. She spent her early life in Northborough, and graduated in 1978 from Algonquin Regional High School. She graduated from Fanning Trade Center as an LPN and worked at Thornton Nursing Home and Westborough State Hospital until she moved to Florida and worked in Home Health as a Private Duty Nurse.
Jean is survived by her sisters, Maryellen Wright and her husband Bruce of Natick, Ma, Tara Bowers and her husband Ford of Kernersville, NC, her stepmother, Rita (Gallant) Thornton, of Brunswick, ME and her brother-in-law Michael O'Connor of Boston. She also leaves 5 nieces, Katie Bentley, Meghann Rothgeb, Siobhan Koch, Tory Bowers and Darsey Bowers plus 2 Nephews, Liam Wright, and John "Thorny" Bowers. She also leaves 5 great nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lisa Thornton Ross, and brother, Stephen Thornton.
Jean was a loving and generous person who had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family and friends, where she would entertain them with jokes and stories.
A graveside prayer and committal service will be held at 12 Noon on Monday, May 3, 2021, in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. All current Massachusetts Covid19 protocols and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
