Jeffrey Alan Bakstran passed away peacefully on June 3, 2022 at Casa de Ramana in Framingham; he was 70 years old. Born in Marlborough and raised in Framingham, Jeff was a son to the late Norma (Richer) and Arthur Bakstran. He was a 1970 graduate of Marian High School, and a 1975 graduate of Framingham State College.
Surviving Jeff are his son Devin and his granddaughter Meadow of Northbridge; Devin's sister Kayla Ramsey; his brothers Paul and wife Annette of Berlin, David of Natick, John and wife Frances of Northborough, Brian and wife Lisa of Leominster; his dear friend John "Mel" Gosselin of Franklin; his nieces and nephews Gordon, Sarah, Clark, Kirsten and Morgan; his close cousins Richer, Mutti, and Gordon as well as many friends.
Jeff was an avid sports fan and active in sports his entire life. He was a sports broadcaster and host of one of the earliest Sports Talk radio shows (Sports Spectrum) at WKOX in Framingham. Although he loved all sports, his first love was hockey which he played, coached, and refereed for most of his life, spending nearly all of his free time at the Navin Arena and the New England Sports Center rinks in Marlborough where he made many, many friends over the years that became his second family.
Jeff's love of music started at an early age when he played the drums in the Framingham Blazer's Marching Band, and it carried on throughout his whole life. He loved going to concerts and saw many of the most famous groups.
