Northborough - John H. Meyer Jr. left this world peacefully on October 16, 2015 after a brief illness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Lois (Caposella); his loving children, Linda Hurley and her husband Jonathan of Medway, MA; John P. Meyer and his wife Nora of Brewster, NY; Elizabeth Meyer of Quincy, MA; and Robert Meyer and his wife Ru Pei of New York, NY. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Timothy, Hannah, Adam, Nathan, and William; his sisters Anne Ziolkowski of Smithtown, NY and Lillian Russo of Northvale, NJ; his brother Raymond Meyer of Hopewell Junction, NY; and many nieces and nephews. John was born and raised in the Bronx, New York and served in the U.S. Navy before completing his undergraduate degree at Columbia University. He earned his MBA from New York University at the beginning of his career with ITT Corporation. After three decades with the company, and after raising his family in New Rochelle, NY, he retired from his position as Assistant Treasurer in 1994 and moved to Massachusetts. He spent his retirement years traveling with his wife to many places in the U.S. and abroad and enjoying time with his children and grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street Northborough, MA and a funeral Mass is scheduled for Tuesday October 20th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street Northborough.
