Joyce M. Crockett, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away at the UMASS Memorial Medical Center's University Campus on February 16, 2025. She was 98 years old. Surviving Joyce are her three children, Jeffrey Crockett and his wife Janet of Dudley, MA, Kristine Carros of New York and Karen Berggren of Colorado; four grandchildren Kristin West and her husband Adam, Amanda Craig, Derek Gervais and his wife Kristy, Jeffrey Crockett, Jr. and eight great-grandchildren Adam West, Jr., Jordyn West, Matilda Gervais, Scarlet Gervais, Gretchen Gervais, Agatha Gervais, Charlotte Craig and Alyson Crockett.

Joyce was born and raised in Worcester. She was a graduate of Commerce High School- Class of 1945. During WWII, Joyce entertained the troops as a dancer through the U.S.O. For several years she worked at Spaulding Advertising. During this time Joyce, with drive and ambition, followed her lifelong enjoyment of cooking and baking by opening a local catering business -Joyce's Kitchen. Joyce successfully operated Joyce's Kitchen for over 50 years before making the choice of hanging up her apron in 2008. Joyce's specialty was custom cakes and her famous Easter baskets which quickly sold out every year at Lowe's Market in Northborough. During this time, Joyce would continue to work at Lowe's Market where she took pride in the creation of delicious sandwiches sold there. For over 52 years, until age 91, customers looked forward to seeing her familiar and friendly smile while enjoying her quick-witted responses. When not in the kitchen, Joyce enjoyed sewing which included alterations of local police officer uniforms, quilting, knitting and reading.

A calling hour will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, February 28th at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. Joyce's funeral will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
