Obituary

Shrewsbury / Northborough

On June 5, 2024, Joyce Anna Malsch passed away peacefully at 86 with family by her side after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to garden, to entertain family and friends, and to decorate. She could make even the saddest of spaces homey and beautiful.

Most of all, Joyce loved her family. She shared her life with her husband Robert for 59 years before his passing and raised 3 children to be kind and loving spouses and parents themselves. She doted on her grandkids, spending countless hours playing games, reading, and doing all the other things that the best grandmas do.

Joyce grew up in Jefferson, NY and after several temporary moves with her husband Robert, they settled in Newark Valley, NY where they raised their family and lived for 52 years. She was active in her church, enjoyed vacation trips with family and friends in the Adirondacks and Catskills, and was always tending to her gardens. She spent the last 4 years of her life in Shrewsbury and Northborough, MA to be closer to family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Robert and is survived by her children and their spouses, Steven and Kathy Malsch, Sheryl and Chuck Rossi, and Michael and Marie Malsch. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren and spouses: Christopher and Jessica Malsch, Jeremy and Amanda Malsch, Emily and Eric Pratt, Sean and Jessica Rossi, Jeffrey Rossi, Sarah and Brady McMurtry , and Daniel Malsch, two great-grandchildren: Lillian Malsch and Claire Malsch, three sisters, and one brother.

Joyce was so loved and she will be missed by all.
