Mrs. Kabita Shrestha, 51, of Boston, Massachusetts passed peacefully in a hospice facility on May 20, 2021. She was fighting with Cancer from early 2020. With all the treatments and interventions, she was able to defeat the cancer at the end of 2020. But God had some other plans for her and in just another 6 weeks, her cancer relapsed which became the reason for her untimely demise.

Kabita was born in Kirtipur, Kathmandu, Nepal on August 29, 1969. She was married for 31 years and she was mother of 3 children. She spent most of her life with her family in Nepal.

She was a hero and role model of the family, who always kept a positive attitude even in the face of sickness. She was filled with so much life and always kept her family before her. Her passing has left a big hole in her family's life which might not be ever healed. Kabita is survived by a son and her 2 daughters. The entire Shrestha family will greatly miss her. May her soul rest in peace, until we meet again!

She was an angel on Earth. She was the most beautiful, caring mom and a loving companion who loved and was loved by everyone. She was and is the best mom in the world. She gave us unconditional love and support. She was a strong woman who was ready to choose painful and emotional experience so that she could be with us (her family). We love her so much and we know even though we cannot see her, she is always with us. We miss you Momma. Until we meet again!! Love you.

ठैव, ललितपुरको आदरणीय समाजसेवी महिला कविता श्रेष्ठको ५१ वर्षको उमेरमा निधन भएको छ । पीत्त थैलीमा मासु पलाएर क्यान्सरका कारण उपचाररत श्रेष्ठको गत बिहीबार बेलुका नेपाली समय अनुसार ८:२३ बजे अमेरिका स्थित बोस्टन म्यासाचुसेट्स अस्पतालमा निधन भएको पारिवारिक स्रोतले जनाएको छ। उहाँको श्रीमान्,१ छोरा र २ छोरीहरू छन् । स्वास्थ्यमा समस्या आएपछि अमेरिकामा रहेका दुई छोरीको आग्रहमा उपचारका लागि अमेरिका लगिएको स्वर्गीय श्रेष्ठका श्रीमान् पूर्ण काजी श्रेष्ठले बताउनुभयो। बिक्रम सम्बत २०२६ भदौ १० गते किर्तिपुर नगरपालिका वडा नम्बर ६ मा जन्मनुभएका स्वर्गीय श्रेष्ठ २०४६ साल माघ १२ गते ठैब निबासी पूर्ण काजी श्रेष्ठसँग विवाह बन्धनमा बाँधिनु भएको थियो। स्वर्गीय श्रेष्ठले लामो समयदेखि सामाजिक कार्यमा साथ र सहयोग दिदै आउनु भएको थियो। उहाँ दियो जस्तै आफू अध्यारोमा बसेर अरुलाई उज्यालो दिने स्वाभावको हुनुहुन्थ्यो। अरूको मन नदुखाउने, दीन दुःखीहरूलाई सहयोग गर्ने स्वभावको उहाँ आफ्नै बारीमा फलेको फल तरकारी टिप्न कोही आउँदा पनि आँखाले देखे पनि नदेखे झैँ गरि दिनुहुन्थ्यो। उहाँले ठैव स्थीत दशघर माखबु सामुदायिक विकास समितिको कोषाध्यक्ष पदमा रहेर लामो समय सेवा प्रदान गर्नुभएको थियो। उहाँले आमाले निभाउनु पर्ने भुमिका र सामाजिक व्यक्तिले निभाउनुपर्ने भूमिका निर्वाह गर्दै आउनुभएको थियो।परिवारमा पनि मुख्य भूमिका निभाउँदै आउनु भएकी श्रेष्ठको दुःखद निधनले परिवारमा मात्र नभई समाजमा पनि गहिरो क्षति पुगेको छ । उहाँले निभाउनु भएको त्यो असल व्यक्तित्व र छवि अहिले पनि चिरपरिचित छ । उहाँको पार्थिव शरीरलाई सोमबार अमेरिकी समय अनुसार १:०० अमेरिका मै अन्त्यष्टि गरिने छ। उहाँ प्रति हार्दिक श्रद्धान्जली अर्पण गर्दै शोकसन्तप्त परिवारजनमा हार्दिक समबेदना प्रकट गर्दछौं। यस दुःखद घडीमा धैर्य धारण गर्ने शक्ति प्रदान गरुन भनी श्री पशुपतिनाथसँग प्रार्थना समेत गर्दछौं।
