Kevin H.
Brown
d. Jun 19, 2026
NORTHBOROUGH
Kevin Henry Brown of Northborough, MA, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, with his wife and best friend, Ann, at his side following a long illness.
Kevin was born in Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from Saint Peter’s Prep in Jersey City, NJ and earned a BS in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA.
Kevin began his career in computer storage manufacturing at BASF. He later moved into disk manufacturing at a startup in Bedford, MA, before joining Digital Equipment Corporation in Hudson, MA. There, he was part of the team that manufactured the VAX chip, the first 64-bit chip in history.
Kevin retired to manage the household as Ann’s career required extensive travel. After the intense demands of semiconductor manufacturing, he enjoyed a more relaxed pace of life alongside his loyal furry companion, Saffron, combining his hobbies of astronomy and photography.
Kevin was known for his love of celebration. He was famous for his hospitality, particularly his annual July 4th parties and elaborate Halloween events for the children in his life. His crowning achievement was a Y2K celebration where he engineered an explosion of 500 fireworks simultaneously.
In addition to Ann, Kevin is survived by his siblings, Peggy Brown, Mary Jane Brown, Robert Brown, Judy Scott, and David Brown; his aunt, Virginia Brown; and his uncle, Robert Brown.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Cummings School Veterinary Fund in Grafton, MA.
Arrangements have been under the care of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough, MA. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.HaysFuneralHome.com.
