Leonard J. Boudreau, 97, died February 3, 2014 at UMass Medical Center in Worcester after a short illness. His wife, Flora M. (Vincent) died in 2000 after 50 years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Leonard G. Boudreau and his wife Betsy of Arlington, Theresa Foster and her husband Kenneth of Northborough, and Vivian Mulligan, who died in 2011, and her husband Joe of Uxbridge. Leonard was also the loving grandfather of John and Daniel Boudreau, Elizabeth Boudreau Martinsen and her husband Karl, Kaitlyn Foster Begley and her husband Michael, Meaghan Foster Alexander and her husband Scott, Colleen Foster, and Erin, Kevin, and Paul Mulligan. Leonard also rejoiced in being the great-grandfather to Ethan Leonard Begley and Sloane Elizabeth Alexander. He is survived by his sister Claire Benoit of Penecook, NH, Rita Landy and her husband John of Billerica, and many nieces and nephews. Leonard was the son of the late Leo and Mary Jane (Doiron) Boudreau and was predeceased by two brothers and seven sisters, three of whom where Holy Union Sisters.

Leonard was born and raised in Somerville. In 1995 he moved from North Cambridge to Northborough. Leonard was a member of the 127th Company for the CCC Pittsfield State Forest Camp. He served in the U.S. Army Antiaircraft Artillery in Central Europe and Northern Africa during WWII with the rank of Sergeant. He worked in construction in and around Boston at places such as MGH, Fenway Park, and the Catherine Gibbs School for more than 30 years. Leonard was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, Dilboy VFW Post in Somerville, and the Holy Name Society. Leonard was a devoted family man whose life entailed watching daily mass and many sporting events including his beloved Bruins.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. The funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, February 8th at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St. Northborough. A private burial will take place at the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Union Sisters 444 Centre St. Milton, MA 02186.
