WORCESTER / DOUGLAS
Lisa Ann (Sherwood) Lockney passed away without warning on July 2, 2026, at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts; the result of an acute medical episode. She was 50 years old.
Lisa was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, beloved daughter, and loyal friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Lockney, who passed away on March 24, 2024. As high school sweethearts, they built a family rooted in love and strength. Lisa was born in Worcester and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester State University, a reflection of both her intelligence and her curiosity. She leaves behind her mother, Sandra Sherwood, 84, and her two beautiful daughters, Haley Lockney, 25, and Taryn Lockney, 21, who were the greatest joys in her life.
To know Lisa was to know unconditional kindness. She had the biggest heart and a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and comforted. She never judged others for their circumstances and had a way of making every person in a room feel included. No one was ever a stranger for long. Her advice came from a place of genuine care, and her compliments were heartfelt and sincere, leaving people feeling better than they did before they spoke with her.
People were naturally drawn to Lisa. Her warmth, beautiful smile, and vibrant personality could light up any room. She loved being creative, trying new things, and finding the beauty in life’s simple pleasures. Children adored her, babies found comfort in her arms, and animals seemed to know they had found a friend. Cats, especially, always made her laugh.
Beautiful both inside and out, Lisa leaves behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, laughter, creativity, and unconditional love. While her family and friends are heartbroken by her loss, they find comfort in knowing that her kindness lives on in every person she helped, every life she touched, and every heart she made feel at home.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
Lisa's arrangements are under the guidance of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532. At this time, there are no public services planned. To honor Lisa's life, please follow her lead and be kind to others, befriend those you do not yet know and never forget to smile.
