SHREWSBURY

Lorraine R. Melican of Shrewsbury, formerly of Northborough, passed away on August 26, 2022. She was 93 years old. Lorraine was born in the Farnumsville section of South Grafton on August 27, 1928, a daughter to the late John F. and Malena (Boutiette) O'Neill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond F. Melican in 2013, her six brothers, Robert, John, Raymond, Norman, Alan, and Harry O'Neill, and her sis-ter Evelyn Duggan.

Lorraine was a graduate of Grafton High School, the Worcester School of Business Sci-ence and Framingham State College. She also studied and subsequently earned her MBA from Anna Maria College in Paxton.

For many years Lorraine was an assistant professor at Becker College in Worcester, retiring in 1992. Before attending college, she was a legal secretary for 15 years.

Following Lorraine's wishes, there are no public services planned. After cremation, Lorraine will be interred alongside Edmond in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
