Marguerite Suzanne
Jackson
December 1, 1935 – February 13, 2023
NORTHBOROUGH
M. Suzanne Jackson passed away peacefully, at the age of 87, on Monday, February 13, 2023. She was the devoted wife of 59 years to Ralph N. Jackson until his own passing in 2019.
Suzanne was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, a daughter to Joseph R. and Doris (Sampica) Audette. She was most proud to have graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing and subsequently, having been successfully employed as a registered nurse, much of which was within a private healthcare setting. From the time she was a child her Catholic upbringing and church life assisted Suzanne in the formation of a lifelong devotion to her Faith. Her Faith was the definitive pillar of her values. Suzanne was a longtime active member of Saint Rose of Lima Parish in Northborough and a dedicated volunteer to shut-ins and local nursing homes where she openheartedly spread the Spirit to the sick. She continued this mission of witnessing and caring for others until days prior to her own death.
Suzanne considered her most important career to be the loving mother and grandmother to her family. Her loving ways and wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing Suzanne. With a love of travel Suzanne could be considered a world traveler. The most meaningful trip was to Africa after the death of Ralph. She decided to embark on the trip by herself, along with one of her sisters. Despite her pain, she took her independence to a new level. She was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots and fondly recalled being at John Lester's no-hitter in May of 2008.
While at home Suzanne loved to knit, crochet, needlepoint, and was actively working on designs despite the crippling arthritis in her hands. These works of love were generally for Grandkids, or special occasions in a persons' life. She also found pleasure in gardening. Her flowers were a badge of honor as she tended and nurtured her flower gardens. Suzanne also enjoyed collecting dolls from across the world. A favorite were Shirley Temples dolls which in their own way had a special meaning. Suzanne and Laura had shared a special fondness for the classic Shirley Temple movies.
Among those surviving Suzanne are her five children, Glenn, Todd, Scott, Craig, and Sarah. Suzanne and Ralph's daughter Laura preceded them both in death. Suzanne also leaves nine grandchildren whom she adored, Carrie, Becky, Ryane, Samantha, Elise, Danny, Devon, Sage and Kai, and four great-grandchildren, Brayden, Keegan, Lucy and Dwain.
Calling hours will be from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, February 17 at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, February 18 at St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. Interment will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
Suzanne's family respectfully request that memorial contributions be made to Thrive Support & Advocacy, 65 Boston Post Rd W Suite 220, Marlborough, MA 01752, or to the St. Rose of Lima Parish-Youth Ministry. For online condolences please visit www.HaysFuneralHome.com.
