Mary Ann Sikora, loving wife of 48 years to Andrew J. Sikora, passed away Thursday morning, September 29, 2016, after being stricken ill; she was 68. Mary was born in Manchester, NH, on July 15, 1948, daughter to the late John R. and Florence W. (Burnes) Platek. She attended Framingham Public Schools, graduating from Framingham North in 1967. Soon after she and Andy married. She worked many years in the communications industry and was a long time loyal employee to Verizon, retiring recently as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed time spent with the children and staff of the Peaslee Elementary School where she was assisting as a cafeteria aide. She leaves behind her two sons, Andrew P. Sikora, Jr. and his wife Arlana of Northborough and Derek J. Sikora and his wife Kelly of Marlborough; eight grandchildren, Zachary Sikora, Bryttanni Fugere, Trisia Fugere, Stephannie Sikora, Ashley Sikora, Isabella Sikora, Nathan Sikora, and Austin Sikora; all of whom she adored and cherished her time with; two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends from over the years. Mary also leaves behind four sisters, Linda Vienneau of Madison, NH, Debby Morin of West Roxbury, MA, Brenda Platek of Dunnellon, FL, and Beverly Craig of Bracey, VA. She was preceded in death by three siblings, John R. Platek, Jr., Francis Southers, and Cheryl Rivers. Mary looked forward to visiting Hampton Beach, routing for the Patriots, challenging friends and family to a game of cards or to a board game and watching the birds visit her flowers. She loved swimming in the pool with her grandchildren, and recently, perfecting her on-line computer gaming skills. Above all she cherished the time with her family.
