Worcester/Northborough - Melanie A. Curran, 51, passed away on May 14, 2016, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, surrounded by her loving family, after a long term illness with breast cancer. She leaves behind her fianc, Frank Hight, her daughter Jennifer Bouckaert, son Michael Bouckaert and brother Shawn Curran all of Worcester; her brother-in-law Jonathan Chalmers of Millbury; two nephews, Christopher Chalmers of Worcester and Nicholas Chalmers of Millbury. She is predeceased by her sister, Kerri Chalmers. Born in Worcester and raised in Northborough, she was the daughter of the late George "Neil" and Carolyn (Chamberlain) Curran. She graduated from Algonquin Regional High School, class of 1982. She went on to earn a B.A. degree in Business from Nichols College. In 2014, Melanie received a M.S. degree in School Counseling from Assumption College. For the past several years, she had been working as a guidance counselor at Southbridge Middle/High School. Prior to that, Melanie worked for many years for the Worcester Public School system. Melanie loved nothing more than a full house of family and friends. She had a gift of making everyone she met feel comforted and loved. She saw the good in every person she met. She was very dedicated to her work and loved all of her students. She loved her animals and enjoyed spending time at the beach. Melanie left such an impact on every person she met and will be missed by so many.
